TOP 5: o outro lado olímpico – a primeira medalha um país nunca esquece
A cobertura das Olimpíadas prioriza recordes, marcas, a disputa pelo topo do quadro de medalhas. Mas o verdadeiro momento olímpico pode encontrar sua essência em outro lado: os países que buscam sua primeira medalha olímpica na história. Em Londres, foram sete os países a terem obtido essa marca, e o Torcida POP falará um pouco sobre os cinco mais marcantes – perdoem-nos, torcedores do Bahrein e de Botsuana, mas a festa dos outros países foi maior!
5. Guatemala – marcha atlética de prata para centro-americanos
A marcha atlética é uma das provas mais longas das Olimpíadas – e longa foi a caminhada da Guatemala, que disputa os Jogos desde 1952 e, em 60 anos de história, enfim chegou à sua primeira medalha, com Erick Barrondo, nos 20km. Confira os demais a seguir:
4. Gabão – no taekwondo, lutador faz história para nação africana
Não era exatamente o mais esperado para um país africano sem medalhas na história quebrar a escrita no taekwondo. Desde 1972 nas Olimpíadas, o Gabão trouxe Anthony Obame, que chegou até a final da categoria acima de 80kg. E o ouro não veio por pouco – a derrota na final foi na decisão dos juízes.
3. Chipre – a prata veio a vela para o pequeno país europeu
Desde 1980 nos Jogos, a pequena ilha do Mediterrâneo já havia chegado perto de um pódio. Mas foi somente agora, com o velejador Pavlos Kontides, que a nação cipriota conseguiu celebrar uma medalha olímpica, na classe Laser.
2. Montenegro – no handebol, demonstração de fair play
Após bater na trave no polo aquático em 2008, a mais jovem ex-república iugoslava chegou à decisão do handebol feminino, diante da Noruega. Mesmo com a derrota, as atletas montenegrinas deram uma mostra incrível de esportividade: poucos segundos após o fim do jogo, levantaram as mãos e aplaudiram as suas adversárias.
1. Granada – ouro e momento histórico com atleta bi-amputado
A primeira participação de Granada nos Jogos foi em 1984, na edição de Los Angeles. Com dez participantes em Londres, o velocista Kirani James levou a medalha de ouro nos 400 metros rasos – mas o atleta acabou chamando a atenção por outra atitude: na semifinal, após vencer a bateria, o granadino correu em direção ao sul-africano Oscar Pistorius (o primeiro bi-amputado a disputar as Olimpíadas), e pediu para trocar sua placa de identificação, levando uma lembrança para casa. Ficou para a história!
















Pelo menos numa coisa o Brasil vai dar banho nas próximas olimpíadas…é na realeza, vamos superar a Inglaterra que tem uma rainha só.
Nós os brazucas, temos o Rei Pelé, A Rainha Xuxa(credo), O Rei do baião, a Rainha do Axé e outros reis e rainhas do terceiro mundo e ainda somos obrigados a pagar o laudêmio para nossa corte de Portugal.
No Brasil a coisa é diferente: Nossa 1ª medalha de Ouro olímpica (individual) foi conseguida no tiro ao alvo, em 1932, por Guilherme Paraense, sendo que a Prata (equipe) ficou com Afrânio Costa. Isto nenhum comentarista esportiva fala, ou por não saber, ou por ser um anti armas sem noção.
Cara melhor se enformar direito não foi em 1932 e sim 1920.
